Adult Vision Screening:

The normal effects of aging, family history and occupational and environmental factors can all contribute to vision problems. Every year, VIP provides visual acuity and glaucoma screenings to thousands of adults, helping identify many eye problems before they significantly impact people's sight. Staff and volunteers also attend health fairs and other events, helping protect the community's vision through eye care education and injury prevention programs.

• The VIP Council conducts personalized screenings to meet the needs of the adult population providing both near and far acuity screenings as well as glaucoma screenings
  
• Staffers and volunteers are committed to educating the community about proper vision care and raising awareness of risk factors that may be encountered around the home, at work and elsewhere
  
• Special effort is made to deliver screenings and educational services to those groups considered "high risk" for vision problems - the elderly, African-Americans and those with a family history of vision problems
