Vanilla Pittman has been with Vision Is Priceless since January 2011. She started as an Administrative Assistant and soon after began working part-time as a Case Manager. Once VIP expanded and began actively serving surrounding counties, she transitioned into a full-time Case Manager position.
Pittman is a native of Jacksonville and has worked in non-profits since 2000. She formerly worked at the Housing Partnership of Northeast Florida helping low to moderate-income families become first-time homebuyers. Additionally, she worked in the Community Department as an assistant to the Community Liaison. In this role, she put together events, helped establish leadership, and started programs to stabilize the neighborhood.
In her experience, she has found that people need a connector. Fortunately, linking others to opportunities and resources was always natural and easy for her. Pittman is a church leader and has a community choir. She regularly performs at nursing homes and other places throughout Jacksonville to lift people to a place of hope and peace.
She currently lives with her husband Thomas on the west side. They have been married for 19 years and have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Vanilla’s life work is to use her gifts and talents to help people and to make the world a better place to live.
