Program Specialist

JOB SUMMARY
Vision is Priceless is seeking a dynamic, analytical, and self-motivated individual to join our team. Our mission is to improve the vision health of children and adults in Northeast Florida. To meet our mission, we provide free vision screenings for over 45,000 people each year, along with follow-up eye exams and specialty care for those in need. The main responsibility of the Program Specialist is to schedule, coordinate and support the adult and children’s vision screening programs in conjunction with the Program Director and Executive Director and in accordance with the policies and procedures of Vision Is Priceless. The position is full-time (37.50 hours/week, hourly, non-exempt).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities
1. Knowledge of area for strategic and effective scheduling of sites for all adult and children’s screenings throughout Duval, Clay, Baker, Nassau and St. Johns counties.
2. Prospect and identify new screening locations for both adult and children’s programs and work with Program Director to recruit new partners.
3. Use database to monitor upcoming screenings, and communicate with school administrators and community partners to ensure screening day preparedness.
4. Assist the Program Director to assure completion of goals and objectives related to grants and the strategic plan.
5. Manage supply of screening and educational materials.
6. Recruit and coordinate external screening volunteers.
7. Maintain screening equipment in good condition; direct repairs and order new equipment with the Program Director’s approval.
8. Serve as a “point person” for the vision screeners, for any questions or information they may need to perform screenings. Bring any policy questions or concerns to the Program Director.
9. Conduct vision screenings, and refer as necessary, for both adult and children’s programs when needed.
10. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills
1. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
2. Good organizational skills and the ability to concentrate and show attention to detail
3. Relatively high degree of analytical abilities
4. Ability to demonstrate good judgment, work independently and as a team member
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks
6. Self-motivated
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Position Requirements
1. Bachelors degree preferred
2. Scheduling experience preferred
3. Knowledge of the Northeast Florida area
4. Available to work flexible hours, occasional Saturday, and use personal car for work related travel (mileage reimbursement)
5. Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Outlook
6. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds of equipment.

Part Time Vision Screener

JOB SUMMARY
Vision is Priceless is seeking a dynamic, analytical, and self-motivated individual to join our team. Our mission is to improve the vision health of children and adults in Northeast Florida. To meet our mission, we provide free vision screenings for over 45,000 people each year, along with follow-up eye exams and specialty care for those in need. The main responsibility of the Part-time Vision Screener is to facilitate and conduct children’s vision screenings under the supervision of the Program Director, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Vision Is Priceless.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conduct vision screenings, and refer as necessary, for children ages 3-18 in daycares, preschools, private and parochial schools throughout the First Coast area
2. Train volunteers at screening location
3. Prepare screening materials
4. Maintain accurate screening records
5. Assist with referral follow-up
6. Maintain screening equipment in good condition and request repairs when needed
7. Participate in fundraising events as needed
8. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Ability to inspire, motivate and train volunteers.
2. Ability to manage multiple tasks.
3. Self-motivated
4. Able to work independently and as a team member.
5. Ability to assess situations and make decisions.
6. Good written and oral communication skills.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

2. Experience in working with volunteers
3. Computer skills.
